Building an offline, multilingual speech-driven semantic input module for NavIndoor, Sapienza's campus indoor-navigation app. International students routinely mispronounce or mis-transcribe Italian room names, and basement floors kill Wi-Fi and cellular signal alike. So the module runs entirely on-device, normalizing spoken queries with phonetic correction and fuzzy matching against a 243-room repository across four campus buildings. I also built the app's search interface in Flutter, and designed and shipped the project's public-facing bilingual (EN/IT) marketing website.

A Multilingual Speech-Driven Semantic Input Module for University Indoor Wayfinding

An offline speech-driven semantic input module for indoor navigation at Sapienza University of Rome, built to resolve Italian room names that standard speech-to-text systems and non-native speakers both struggle with. It runs entirely on-device, with no cloud dependency. Evaluated on 150 spoken queries: 92% top-candidate accuracy, resolving in 8.0ms on consumer mobile hardware.
